CLASSES

Private Coaching

Actors that are looking for private coaching can arrange individual time. Whether you are looking to study for specific events like auditions or filming, or simply wanting to improve your skills in a more intensive way, you can request 1-on-1 time.

Cost: 500 kč per hour

Actors Audition Specialty Workshops

In today’s world, actors need to learn to work seamlessly through a variety of styles. To do this, you must be able to change your technique to work in theatre, film, television, commercials, voice-overs and video games. The aim of these classes is to help make an actor more versatile, so that they are able to create believable performances no matter what the medium.

Talking

Acting is not merely speaking out loud emphatically and with meaning. The most important job actors have is to sound like they are actually talking. And yet, this is one of the hardest things to do. Many actors you see on Stage, Screen and Television sound like they are reciting lines. They are unable to bring variety, lightness and the “feeling of ease” to their studied scripts.

Explore the many possibilities of what you can realistically express, and help yourself get cast more often. Classes will focus on distinguishing what talking “is” and “is not”, believability, spontaneity and the element of surprise.

Additional courses (Creativity & Creating a Character) may be combined for student discounts.

To ensure the most growth, class size will be limited to only 6 people

Creativity

If you sit through enough auditions, you will find that most people deliver similar interpretations that usually lack the intricacies that an author intends. This makes it difficult to distinguish what is the uniqueness that they might bring to the role.

Actors need to expand their creative abilities. This class will focus on numerous exercises to enable you to break through the barriers that are holding you back, while also helping you to distinguish “who you are” and what you can bring to any role, play, dance, writing or design.

This class is beneficial for actors, directors, writers, singers, choreographers and more – any place where creativity plays a part.

Additional courses (Talking and Creating a Character) may be combined for student discounts.

To ensure the most growth, class size will be limited to only 6 people

Creating a Character

There are so many things that define us as people: how we look, what we sound like, how we move and behave, how we react, our energy, tempo and intensity, and our memories and experiences. All these things play equal parts in creating a performance.

Learn how to create authentic and believable alternate versions of yourself. This class will focus on using physical, psychological and vocal traits to build a character from the ground up.

Additional courses (Talking and Creativity) may be combined for student discounts.

To ensure the most growth, class size will be limited to only 6 people

Ongoing Actors Playground

Do you have an audition coming up? A performance? Want to just work on new scenes, monologues, your speech and dialect? This class is a “drop-in” series every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Come as often or as infrequently as fits your schedule. You set your own pace and work on what you want to work on as you receive feedback and coaching.

Many actors find it hard to commit to a long-term class. This is designed for those who frequently work or need to miss classes because of travel, school, work… Everything will be tailored to the individual needs of each actor. You can work on theatre, film, television or voice-over work.

Actors interested in studying are encouraged to send an email to steve@gallimaufry.org or call +420 775 991 554.
